Care Model

Our model of care will focus on individual goals and a range of learning options that are tailored to clients’ needs.

Assessment

  • Initial assessment: This is the information gathering stage to ensure that placements are offered to the most deserving and needy young girls. When a place is offered, goals will be set which will be reviewed regularly.

  • Continuous assessment:  Short term goals will be set and outcomes will be reviewed. Dropping out will be discouraged, but for some clients, this may be unavoidable. There will be a reward system to encourage our clients to persevere and there will be a graduation ceremony on completion of the programme.

Education

The girls will be assured at the start of the program that their individual programs will be tailor-made to suit their individual needs. The emphasis will be based on continuous assessment of skills taught.

They will encourage to undertake small projects that would form part of the portfolio they will take with them on the completion of the program.

Learning Support

Learning opportunities will be available formally and informally, helping our clients to grow and develop in their chosen vocations.

Psycho-Social Support

A robust support system based on empathy and a non-judgmental attitude will be the key to the success of this program. We hope to offer group and one to one counselling as required. Our matrons will be available for informal sessions and peer group support. A nursery will be available within the sanctuary for their babies, in order to promote breastfeeding when possible and to support maternal bonding.
